Dr. Stephen N. Doran, D.M.D
February 13, 1957 – December 3, 2018
Dr. Stephen N. Doran was an accomplished oral surgeon. He started this practice on August 8th, 1990 with very little money but a lot of heart. He believed if you treat patients like they were family, the rest will take care of itself. That is how Dr. Doran treated not just the patient’s that walked through our doors, but his employee’s and colleagues too.

Dr. Doran loved to help others. In November 1997, this practice started hosting a free extraction clinic for our McLean County resident’s, which continues to this day. This passion to help others continued as he served on the Board of Directors for John Scott Health Center from 2000 to 2010. In 2010 he served as lead Surgeon in the Oral Surgery department of the Illinois Mission of Mercy. He was awarded the Prestigious Dental Society President’s Award for his commitment to dentistry in 2011.

In 2013, Dr. Doran went on his first medical mission trip to Haiti to provide free oral surgery care. He was profoundly affected by seeing the poverty and desperate need for dental care among the Haitian people. As he did in all aspect of his life, he saw a need and did whatever he could in his power to help. Serving the Haitian community became his life passion. He participated in several oral surgery mission trips to Haiti and was serving on a mission trip in Haiti when he passed away in his sleep unexpectedly on December 3rd, 2018.
Dr. Doran never forgot where he came from. His father was a truck driver, his mother was a teacher and they raised their children to treat others as you would want to be treated. He embodied those words as rules to live by.
He was our colleague, employer, mentor, father figure, advocate and most importantly, our friend.
He will be missed beyond measure by all who knew him, may he rest in peace.
